Hello, I’m Virginia
I’ve always been green at heart — from childhood mud pies in the garden to a career spanning over two decades in sustainability. I began my career as an architect before spending 12 years at BRE, the home of BREEAM, where I held various roles, from consultant to technical trainer, business development manager, and project manager.
In 2018, redundancy pushed me to reinvent myself while raising two young children. I realised that while many sustainability professionals had the technical know-how, what they really needed was support to develop their “human” skills — communication, influence, and confidence — to win buy-in and make a real impact.
That’s how Green Gorilla was born. I retrained as a transformational coach and have since trained and coached hundreds of professionals and leaders across sectors and countries, helping them turn passion into influence and resistance into results.
Along the way, I’ve written two books — SustainABLE (2020) and The Good Communicator (2025) — both focused on empowering sustainability professionals to lead with clarity and impact. My mission is simple: to make sustainability a no-brainer, for people and for the planet.
