Yep. Your life is a sailboat, and you are the captain, me hearties.
Your personal strengths power you like sails, your values give you direction like a steering wheel, and your goals are your destination.
You can control all of those, but you can't change the weather (life circumstances) or the boats around you (other people in your life).
I find this metaphor really powerful, and often use it in my coaching sessions to raise awareness on what you can and can't control and where to focus your attention for maximum performance.
