Be like water

It's a Buddhist way of saying - although this expression has been made popular by actor and martial arts guru Bruce Lee.

I'm practising to overcome my frustration and sadness every day by being more like the water in a river, instead of the rocks.

If I stay attached to my "failure", I can only get more miserable. Life throws curveballs left, right and centre and if I were rigid like a rock, I would get hit.

Being like the water means I can adapt, change, learn and try again. I can flow with life and accept that everything truly happens for a reason, and my only job is to think about which hidden gifts are there as a consequence waiting for me to use them.

At this stage, I'm practising. Sometimes it's super hard, but when I take the time to ground myself, slow down and breathe, I'm more able to adopt this view on failures than when I'm rushed off my feet.

What do you need to do or change to be like water?
