Look into my eyes

If you have been reading my newsletter for a while you know how much of a fan I am of Dr Andrew Huberman (bordering groupie, really...): a Stanford professor who has an excellent podcast (the Huberman Lab podcast) in which he shares science-based tools for everyday life improvements, from cold water exposure to sleep routines to specific foods and habits to support the human body and mind to perform at their best.

One such protocol (as he calls it) is exposing your eyes to natural light first thing in the morning for five to ten minutes to regulate your "cortisol pulse", which in turn, sets your levels of alertness, focus and mood.

Here you can watch a lovely animated video in which he explains it better than I can.

These past weeks I have been working to finish my book (which I just sent to the publisher, whoo whoo!!) at a rhythm that is very unusual for me: on Wednesday I was at my desk from 4 am until 11 pm - not something I would advocate for.

The one thing that has really helped keep my energy and mood levels up has been drinking my coffee in front of my open window facing East upon waking up.  Since starting doing this a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a remarkable improvement in my energy and I felt more adjusted, despite the ridiculous working schedule.

Try for yourself and let me know whether you have similar results!
