The bottom line for me is that they are all helpful - we just need to understand how, when and why they show up in our lives and learn how to manage them. If you want to learn how to deal with your emotions, you can start by tracking them, perhaps using the Wheel of Emotions, then map when they show up and why, and what is helpful to do when they do.
