Keep calm and carry on

The news is not so promising these days...

The Climate Change Conference (COP 29) is well underway in Azerbaijan and BBC reports that the chief executive of Azerbaijan's COP29 team, Elnur Soltanov, has been caught on camera discussing "investment opportunities" in the state oil and gas company with a man posing as a potential investor.

In the meantime, the Azerbaijani president declared that "Oil, gas, wind, sun, gold, silver, copper, all... are natural resources and countries should not be blamed for having them, and should not be blamed for bringing these resources to the market, because the market needs them."

In my homeland, Sicily, and Spain torrential rain and floods have caused huge damage and numerous casualties.

The US just elected a president who thinks climate change is a scam.

What's going on??

Whatever is going on, I invite you to breathe and re-focus on the good work you are doing. Don't waste precious energy, emotional capacity and bandwidth with things that are beyond your control. Remember that not everything is lost yet.

Instead, fill your feed with positive environmental news and get closer to the people who share your value set. We, together have power. And even if it doesn't feel and look like it, things are changing; it's just that change is not linear.

That's why we need to just keep going because we don't know exactly when the (positive) tipping point is going to happen.

We got this.
